this woman is everywhere lately, up in everyone’s business spreading lies. i’m really curious about her career arc moving forward.

In March 2009, Napolitano told the German news site Spiegel Online that while she presumes there is always a threat from terrorism: “I referred to “man-caused” disasters. That is perhaps only a nuance, but it demonstrates that we want to move away from the politics of fear toward a policy of being prepared for all risks that can occur.”[18] In April 2009 Napolitano, trying to defend her plans to thicken US-Canadian border security, claimed incorrectly that September 11 attack perpetrators entered the United States from Canada, causing an angry response from the Canadian ambassador

Former Republican presidential candidate John McCain on Friday said he believed some of the 9/11 hijackers entered the United States from Canada, triggering a new round of frustration and anger among Canadian government officials only days after a similar remark by U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

At a White House news conference, Besser and Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano sought to assure Americans that health officials are taking all appropriate steps to minimize the impact of the outbreak.

Top among those is declaring the public health emergency. As part of that, Napolitano said roughly 12 million doses of the drug Tamiflu will be moved from a federal stockpile to places where states can quickly get their share if they decide they need it. Priority will be given to the five states with known cases so far: California, Texas, New York, Ohio and Kansas.

Napolitano called the emergency declaration standard operating procedure — one was declared recently for the inauguration and for flooding. She urged people to think of it as a “declaration of emergency preparedness.”

“Really that’s what we’re doing right now. We’re preparing in an environment where we really don’t know ultimately what the size of seriousness of this outbreak is going to be.”

sounds to me like she’s towing the party fear line to me.

There’s consistently 1 country that doesn’t give a rat’s ass about the UN or what the rest of the world think and it’s mind boggling that the US seems to endorse their point of view when it comes to this seemingly ‘rogue’ behaviour. While politicians line up and do their talking head thing, people all over the world condemn the actions of all senseless violence. Israel, Israel, Israel.

Three artillery shells believed to have been fired by Israeli forces struck near the perimeter of a U.N. school in northern Gaza on Tuesday, killing at least 30 people and wounding 55, a U.N. official said.

A short time later, another artillery shell struck inside a second U.N. school in Jabalya, but Ging said the boys’ prep school was empty at the time.

It was the third Israeli strike affecting a U.N. school in Gaza. Three Palestinian men, all members of the same family, were killed Monday night in Gaza City by a direct hit on an elementary school, the U.N. agency said.

The schools were in use as shelters for civilians fleeing the military operation. The buildings were “clearly marked” with U.N. flags, and the agency said it had given the global-positioning coordinates of all its schools to Israeli authorities.

The U.N. agency said 400 Palestinians were staying in the Asma Elementary School at the time of Monday night’s airstrike.

The latest incidents came as Israeli ground forces surrounded densely populated Gaza City after at least 50 airstrikes pounded the region

50 airstrikes in one day? it’s like shotting fish in a barrel and you’re complaining when some of the fish get angry? Seems to me that if i took over my neighbours home and then forced him to live in the basement closet with no little to no food, he’d react violently after a certain time. Me whining that his violence is unacceptable is a little laughable, don’t you think?

The U.N. Security Council held an emergency meeting Saturday, but failed to agree on a statement in response to Israel’s ground offensive launched in Gaza.

Libyan Ambassador Giadalla Ettalhi, who circulated a draft resolution on the crisis at a Security Council meeting last week, said a proposal, which “strongly condemns Israeli military action” and calls on the Jewish state to immediately cease “military attacks against the civilian population,” had wide support among Council members.

However, Ettalhi said the United States was to blame for blocking a consensus.

Just days after the U.S. military formally handed authority of Baghdad’s “Green Zone” over to the Iraqis, the new American Embassy opened in Baghdad.

The new U.S. Embassy covers 104 acres and is the largest in the world, housing 1,200 U.S. diplomats, soldiers, and government staff from 14 federal agencies, according to a U.S. State Department news release.

The original price tag on the 27-building complex was $592 million, but a congressional report from 2007 — citing State Department documents — indicated the cost could end up $144 million higher.

“Embassy Baghdad” will dwarf new U.S. embassies elsewhere, projects that typically cover 10 acres. The embassy’s 104 acres is six times larger than the United Nations compound in New York, and two-thirds the acreage of Washington’s National Mall.

“The presence of a massive U.S. embassy — by far the largest in the world — co-located in the Green Zone with the Iraqi government is seen by Iraqis as an indication of who actually exercises power in their country,” the International Crisis Group, a European-based research group, said in one of its periodic reports on Iraq.

At what point to we pin some of the responsibility on the pharmaceutical companies?

“For me, it helps me to get the job done,” he said. “I can’t bear working without taking Artane. It makes me happy and high, but I still can control myself.”

The abuse of prescription drugs, widely available in Iraq on the black market and through private pharmacies, has significantly increased since 2003, doctors and other health specialists say, nourished by the stresses of the war and the lack of strict government regulation.

“They believe that this Artane allows them to become courageous, to become brave,” said one doctor, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly. about the issue.

“They take it so that there is no anxiety, no fear,” he said, “so they can break down doors and enter houses with no shame.”

No clear evidence exists that the misuse of prescription drugs has a significant effect on how soldiers and police officers perform their duties. Nor are any figures available on how widespread drug abuse is in the security forces or whether most of those who use the drugs do so daily.

But Mr. Qasim, 26, estimated that one out of three soldiers in his army unit take Artane or other drugs while on duty. Jalal Ammar, 45, an Iraqi police officer, said “probably 30 percent” of the police officers he worked with used Artane and other medications.

The Federal Reserve, or the Fed as it is lovingly called, may be one of the most mysterious entities in modern American government. Created during Wilson’s presidency to protect the economy in times of financial turmoil, its real business remains to be discovered. During the Wilson presidency, the U.S. government sanctions the creation of the Federal Reserve. Thought by many to be a government organization maintained to provide financial accountability in the event of a domestic depression, the actual business of the Fed is shrouded in secrecy. Many Americans will be shocked to discover that the principle business of the Fed is to print money from nothing, lend it to the U.S. government and charge interest on these loans. Who keeps the interest? Good question. Find out as the connective tissue between this and other top-secret international organizations is explored and exposed.

the powers that be changed their marketing tune (across the board) about 8 months ago from “global warming” to the more generic (and previously acceptable) “climate change” finding that “global warming” was having too hard a time coinciding with the numbers (other numbers). It’s a bit like that mac ad that makes fun of PC because he stops using “vista” in favour of the fuzzy feeling “windows”.

Watching the presidential elections this go around is proof positive that the 2 year distraction of primaries, debates, halabaloo…is exactly that…a distraction from policy making which is happening in corporate board rooms and washington’s closed doors. i can’t believe that more canadians don’t see the states, cringe and call their MLA to make sure we don’t end up like that.

He’s a bit of a liberitarian, but that’s not nearly as bad a word in my vocabulary as some others and I’m glad he got his message out and good luck to him on Tuesday.
