I’m a big fan of what nokia has been doing with their tablet and media phones. they’ve been doing it out of the limelight while apple and google phones are fighting for centre stage. Nokia has a few different operating systems that they’ve been trying to push from symbian to maemo to meego — for me they should just accept windows 7 or android and get on with doing what they do best…creating beautiful handsets. That said, the advances that Nokia accomplished with their N810 series really helped to set the bar of what should be expected on a portable device.

With rumours of the N8/9 rolling out soon, here’s some videos that go over the devices.

Dell With A Cool Entry Into Tablet/Netbook Market

Dell’s Inspiron Duo is reviewed at Tom’s Hardware and is set for release late this year.

One of the major flaws of the current tablets is that you can’t type or mouse effectively — it’s sort of a one step forward and one step back. Wait a minute…did we get anywhere? Apple (and other touch pad makers) requires people to have external keyboards and an external mouse in order to be an effective productivity tool?

It appears that Dell deals with the problem and offers a complete solution, as opposed to a one that requires multiple “accessories” in order to become effective. I’m looking forward to seeing how effective this is in a Windows 7 environment.
