Launch Party, July 4th in Montreal

KICK OFF is a month long exhibit of new works by Albertan visual artists in Montreal, Quebec. The exhibit ‘kicks off’ with a launch party featuring a variety of live arts and targeted at the Montreal visual arts community.

The artists have also been commissioned to create an exterior mural for Theatre Ste Catherine, a prominent live and visual arts venue in the downtown arts district.

KICK is a new gallery concept established with the specific purpose of providing a group of young Albertan visual artists with an online gallery accompanied by the promotion and exhibition of their work domestically and abroad. Our goal is to foster the artists’ creative development and create fresh professional opportunities without being confined to a fixed gallery location.

The six artists represented by KICK, Jon Boletta, Abby Fong, Conz, Terry Miller, Jfry Craig and Tim Rechner have been invited to exhibit their new works at Theatre Ste Catherine in Montreal. On July 4th, 2009, KICK OFF launches as a special live arts event, and will feature performances by circus artists, spoken word, in addition to other live arts performances and popular Montreal DJ’s and musicians. During the launch, an exterior mural will be created by KICK artists as commissioned by the venue. The launch will be widely promoted in the Montreal arts community and hopes to draw an estimate of 500 people. The month long exhibit will overlap with several high profile international festivals, the Just for Laughs Festival and the Montreal Jazz Festival for which Theatre Ste Catherine is an official venue. The artists will receive invaluable exposure to an international audience of potential buyers and collectors.
